Moondrop has introduced new isodynamic headphones Moondrop Para 2. The use of a very large isodynamic driver with a diameter of 100 mm with FDT (Full-Drive Technology) and an ultra-thin 1.2 µm membrane etched from pure silver allowed to create a very impressive model.
Full Drive Technology is an active driver circuit that uses a field of 36 large neodymium ribbon magnets. With this approach, the membrane surface is covered with tracks of high-purity silver etched in a two-dimensional topological structure. As a result, the design minimizes parasitic vibrations and provides high sound accuracy with low distortion. According to Moondrop, the Para 2 headphones achieve sound quality comparable to electrostatic headphones.
The cherry on the cake is another innovative technology of balancing the tension of the diaphragm Tension Balancing Technology (TBT), which ensures uniform distribution of forces over the entire surface.
The Moondrop Para 2 headphones come with a balanced cable with a 4.4mm Pentaconn connector. The cable is made of high-quality 6N monocrystalline copper in a four-core parallel configuration. The connections are made using 3.5mm mini-jack connectors for easy upgrades and cable replacement if necessary.
The Moondrop Para 2 full-size on-ear headphones are available now for a suggested retail price of $499.99.
