Eversolo AMP-F8 – Class AB Power Amplifier with Bridge Mode

Eversolo has revealed details of its new AMP-F8 stereo power amplifier. The model operates in Class AB and is designed both for use in a conventional stereo system and in bridged mode. In stereo configuration, the amplifier delivers 2 × 180W RMS into 8 ohms and 2 × 280W RMS into 4 ohms, while bridging the channels increases output to 500W RMS into 8 ohms.

The AMP-F8 output stages employ three parallel-connected matched pairs of high-power MOSFET transistors in each channel. This arrangement distributes current across several output devices and is intended to improve amplifier stability when driving loudspeakers with different impedance characteristics. The circuit is designed for high current delivery and consistent control over the load at substantial output levels.

The power supply is built around a large 800W toroidal transformer. The generous power reserve is intended primarily to ensure stable operation during dynamic peaks and when driving demanding loudspeakers. With the AMP-F8, Eversolo has focused on traditional analogue circuitry, high output power and the possibility of building a system with two amplifiers, each operating as a monoblock.

Visually, the AMP-F8 continues Eversolo’s established design language but differs from the company’s digital components by featuring large analogue VU meters on the front panel. The amplifier is therefore aimed at systems where the power stage is expected to provide not only substantial output reserves but also the option of further system expansion through bridged operation.

The new amplifier has a specified THD+N of 0.003% at 1kHz, while the signal-to-noise ratio reaches 115dB, A-weighted. Channel separation at 180W into 8 ohms and 1kHz is rated at no worse than −95dB. The damping factor exceeds 400 at 8 ohms and 1kHz, while the frequency response extends from 10Hz to 30kHz within ±0.5dB at an output of 1W into 8 ohms.

The Eversolo AMP-F8 is equipped with both balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs, each with an input impedance of 10kOhm. Gain can be switched between 23dB and 29dB. At an output of 180W into 8 ohms, XLR input sensitivity is 5.2V or 2.6V respectively, while RCA sensitivity is 2.65V or 1.3V.

The recommended retail price of the Eversolo AMP-F8 stereo power amplifier is set at $1,800. The launch date has not yet been announced.
