Schiit Jotunheim 3 - Third Generation of the Headphone Amplifier

07.01.2026 15:03 | ~2 minutes read

Schiit Audio has introduced the third generation of its popular headphone amplifier, predictably named Jotunheim 3. The completely redesigned amplifier circuit debuts the Prime topology and Continuity A output stage, delivering 6 W into 32 Ohms headphones and 20 V RMS for high-impedance models. Noise levels are virtually non-existent - even with sensitive IEMs.

The new generation brings improved components, a new 4.4 mm Pentaconn balanced output, and the familiar array of switches and connectors for discerning personal audio enthusiasts. The fully discrete amplifier with current feedback and only 10 dB of overall feedback keeps both balanced and single-ended outputs equally clean and quiet. The Continuity A Output Stage doubles bias current versus the previous generation, staying in Class A much longer for greater control and headroom with complex loads.

The Jotunheim 3 is the first Schiit Audio product fully manufactured on the company's own robotic SMD line in Corpus Christi. The price is $499 for the amplifier only or $649 with Mesh DAC.
