Cayin Jazz 70 – the Entry-level Amplifier in the Jazz Series

Cayin has released the Jazz 70 integrated tube amplifier, the smallest and most affordable model in the Jazz family, which also includes the Jazz 80, Jazz 90 and Jazz 100. The amplifier combines traditional tube circuitry with modern connectivity: three RCA inputs are provided for analog sources, while wireless playback is available via Bluetooth.

The preamplifier stage of the Cayin Jazz 70 uses three 12AU7/ECC82 tubes, while the output stage employs four matched EL34 tubes operating in a Class AB push-pull configuration. Users can choose between two output-stage operating modes. In triode mode, the amplifier delivers 17 watts per channel and is intended to provide a softer, more intimate presentation, while in ultralinear mode output increases to 35 watts per channel, offering greater dynamic headroom and improved control over loudspeakers.

Wireless connectivity is handled by an adapter based on the Qualcomm QCC5125 chipset, with support for LDAC, aptX HD, aptX LL, aptX, AAC and SBC. Digital-to-analog conversion is performed by an ESS ES9018K2M DAC. The power supply features a hand-wound toroidal transformer designed for low magnetic leakage, while the output transformers use EI cores.

The front panel of the Jazz 70 features two analog VU meters, which are also used when adjusting the bias of the output tubes, as well as a headphone output. The package includes an aluminum remote control and a removable protective tube cage. The amplifier is available in black and silver finishes, with a recommended retail price of €1,598 in Europe.
