Raidho X1.6 Reference – Compact Loudspeakers with Passive Radiator

Raidho Acoustics is preparing to premiere its new X1.6 Reference standmount loudspeaker at High End Vienna 2026, which will take place from June 4 to 7 at the Austria Center Vienna. The new model is a more advanced version of the Raidho X1.6 and is aimed at listeners who want the brand’s characteristic scale, speed and resolution in a compact format, without moving up to large floorstanding systems.

The main changes in the Reference version are concentrated inside the cabinet. The Raidho X1.6 Reference features a fully hand-assembled crossover using Mundorf components, along with Nordost Valhalla internal wiring. Moreover, Nordost cables are used not only in the loudspeaker’s signal path but also directly in the crossover, underlining the higher status of this modification.

Raidho emphasises that the crossover here is not treated as an auxiliary element, but as one of the key parts shaping the character of the sound. Its circuit design, component quality and internal wiring influence driver integration, signal purity and the naturalness of the musical presentation. In compact loudspeakers, such details are especially important, since cabinet volume and tuning options are limited.

The Raidho X1.6 Reference is equipped with the company’s signature ribbon tweeter and a 6.5-inch mid/bass driver with a ceramic-aluminium cone. Both drivers are manufactured at the company’s factory in Denmark. The tweeter is responsible for fast response, transparency and detail in the upper range, while the main driver is intended to provide rigidity, control and precise reproduction of dynamic attacks.

Special attention in the new version has also been paid to the low-frequency range. A passive radiator is installed on the rear panel of the cabinet, replacing a traditional bass reflex port. This solution is intended to increase bass output and add a greater sense of physical scale to the sound, bringing the compact standmount model closer to the presentation of a small floorstanding loudspeaker.

The recommended retail price of the Raidho X1.6 Reference in Europe is €10,000 per pair. The company will also offer dedicated Raidho / Scansonic stands in black and white finishes, priced at €500 per pair.
