Black Sabbath’s iconic rock albums "Black Sabbath" and "Paranoid" have been released in the ultimate audiophile format: 1/4-inch, two-track magnetic tape (R2R) running at 15 ips (38 cm/s). The Rhino High Fidelity label produced these reel-to-reel (R2R) editions using fully analog transfers (1:1) from the original US analog master tapes, offering fans the definitive listening experience - a true "Holy Grail" for audiophiles.

The R2R editions of Black Sabbath "Black Sabbath" and Black Sabbath "Paranoid" utilize the IEC equalization standard and are recorded on high-quality RTM LPR90 tape wound onto 10.5-inch metal reels. Each edition is limited to 500 copies and is available exclusively via the Rhino website.

As a reminder, "Black Sabbath" - released on February 13, 1970 - became the band's calling card, introducing a dense, dark sound. Tracks like "Black Sabbath" and "N.I.B." became staples of heavy rock; the album reached number 8 on the UK charts and number 23 on the "Billboard" 200, eventually achieving platinum status in the US. That autumn, the band solidified its standing with "Paranoid", which topped the charts in their home country and reached number 12 in the US (selling over four million copies).
