Michell Engineering has unveiled a new version of its most popular turntable. The 2025 version of the Michell Gyro features a 19mm-thick, machined chassis made from aircraft-grade aluminum, replacing the aluminum casting used in all previous generations of turntables in this series.

The new Michell Gyro now offers uniform mechanical properties, maximizing vibration damping. This solution was selected after thorough FEA analysis and AI-based simulation. The result is a design with a new mass distribution and damping zones.

Furthermore, the Michell Gyro features a modified three-point spring suspension: its natural frequency has been reduced from 4.5 Hz to 3.5 Hz thanks to the Equilibria self-centering mechanism. Six contact points provide improved vibration isolation.

The innovative helix oil pump bearing has been upgraded to dual-spiral technology: the oil flow for lubricating the inverted bearing has been doubled, further reducing friction. The new motor features a shielded design with a ground cable and electronic speed selection.

The Delrin support platter has a smooth, precision-machined edge with no visible belt groove - the belt is now self-centering.
The Michell Gyro will be available in the UK in late December 2025 with a recommended retail price of £5,995.
