Majority Unveils Fitzwilliam Hi-Fi Series and 200W Quadriga Maxi System

Majority has expanded its home audio range in two directions at once. The British company has introduced the Fitzwilliam line of full-size Hi-Fi components, comprising three separate products, alongside the standalone Quadriga Maxi all-in-one system. The new models are aimed at users who want modern streaming features without giving up CDs, terrestrial radio or traditional wired connections.

The Fitzwilliam range consists of the Fitzwilliam CD network CD player, the Fitzwilliam AMP integrated streaming amplifier and the Fitzwilliam CD AMP combined CD receiver. All three models come in conventional 43.5cm-wide Hi-Fi chassis and are designed both for building a dedicated component system and for upgrading an existing audio setup.

The Fitzwilliam CD can serve as a digital source for an external amplifier or a pair of active speakers. It features a slot-loading drive supporting CD, CD-R and CD-RW, along with Spotify Connect with Spotify Lossless, internet radio, podcasts, DAB/DAB+ and FM with RDS. Bluetooth 5.2 is provided for wireless connectivity, while the USB port can play MP3 files from storage devices with capacities of up to 128GB. Rear-panel connections include an analogue RCA output, coaxial and optical digital outputs, and an RCA input.

The Fitzwilliam AMP, meanwhile, is a fully fledged network-enabled integrated amplifier. It is based on a two-channel Class D amplifier module from Texas Instruments, with a claimed output of up to 200W per channel. Its network features mirror those of the Fitzwilliam CD, including Spotify Lossless via Spotify Connect, internet radio, podcasts, DAB/DAB+ and FM. Connectivity includes RCA, optical and coaxial inputs, as well as a preamp output and a headphone socket. Users can choose from preset EQ profiles or manually adjust bass and treble, with a loudness function also available.

The most versatile model in the range is the Fitzwilliam CD AMP. It combines a network streaming platform, a tray-loading CD player and a two-channel Class D amplifier rated at up to 200W. The unit supports CD, CD-R and CD-RW playback, Spotify Connect, Bluetooth, MP3 playback from USB storage, internet radio, podcasts, DAB/DAB+ and FM with RDS. Its connections include analogue RCA, optical and coaxial inputs, speaker outputs, RCA pre-out and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Alongside the Fitzwilliam range, Majority has also launched the Quadriga Maxi, a self-contained audio system that requires neither an external amplifier nor separate speakers. Its single chassis houses a 200W 2.1-channel speaker system, a CD player, a radio tuner and a streaming module. Sound is delivered by two 3-inch full-range drivers and a dedicated 5.25-inch woofer. The slot-loading drive supports CD, CD-R, CD-RW and MP3-CD, while streaming features include Spotify Connect, internet radio and podcasts.

The Quadriga Maxi also supports Bluetooth 5.2, USB playback, DAB/DAB+ and FM with RDS. External sources can be connected via optical, RCA and 3.5mm AUX inputs, while a headphone output is also provided. Operation is assisted by a 4.3-inch colour TFT display mounted on the front panel.

All of the new products are already available in Europe. The Majority Fitzwilliam CD is priced at €199, the Fitzwilliam AMP at €229 and the Fitzwilliam CD AMP at €269. The Majority Quadriga Maxi all-in-one system costs €399.
