Marantz MCR 60n – CD, Streaming and HDMI eARC in a Single Chassis

Marantz has introduced the compact Marantz MCR 60n audio system, combining the functions of several Hi-Fi components in a single chassis. It incorporates a CD player, network streamer, amplifier, MM phono stage and an HDMI eARC interface for connection to a TV. The company describes the new model as the most versatile compact system in its lineup. A Marantz MCR 60n DAB version with digital radio support will also be available in Europe. The system will be offered in Matte Black and Champagne Gold finishes.
The amplifier section of the Marantz MCR 60n delivers 65 watts per channel into 4 ohms and, according to the manufacturer, provides greater current capability and power reserves than the brand’s other compact systems. Its four-channel architecture supports Bi-Amp operation, Parallel Bridge-Tied Load mode, or connection of two pairs of speakers. A dedicated subwoofer output with adjustable crossover frequency is also provided. Thanks to HDMI eARC, the system can serve as an audio hub for a TV, with support for HDMI-CEC, Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus.
Network functionality is based on the HEOS platform, with support for internet radio, multi-room playback and popular streaming services. Compatibility includes Spotify, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, AirPlay 2 and Roon. The system can play PCM files at resolutions up to 32-bit/384 kHz and DSD up to 11.2 MHz. Bluetooth works in both directions, allowing the MCR 60n to receive music from mobile devices or transmit audio to wireless headphones.
In addition to the built-in CD drive and MM phono stage, the Marantz MCR 60n features Ethernet, USB, an optical digital input and a variable analog output. The latter allows the unit to be used as a network preamplifier with an external power amplifier or active speakers. Dirac Live room correction is available as an optional feature. Sales of the Marantz MCR 60n compact audio system will begin on September 15, 2026, with a suggested retail price of $1,000 / €900.
