Scottish company Fyne Audio has introduced the Cubitt 5 – its first active wireless speaker system with built-in streaming capabilities. For the brand, this model marks an important step toward a more accessible and convenient format: the Cubitt 5 is designed for those who want to enjoy Fyne Audio’s signature sound without a separate amplifier, complex cabling, or a traditional multi-component Hi-Fi system.
The Cubitt 5 name is connected to Cubitt Court – Fyne Audio’s new headquarters and production facility in Glasgow, where the company’s higher-end loudspeakers are made. With the new model, the manufacturer aims to bring its key engineering solutions into a more compact and affordable segment. In essence, the Cubitt 5 is an all-in-one active bookshelf system aimed at modern home music listening scenarios.

At the heart of the Cubitt 5 is a new 125 mm proprietary coaxial IsoFlare driver. This coaxial technology is one of Fyne Audio’s defining features and is responsible for more precise stereo imaging, coherent sound, and more even sound dispersion throughout the room. Since the sound is emitted from a single acoustic point, the system is intended to create a more unified and natural sound field. The design also uses the company’s FyneFlute surround, intended to reduce unwanted coloration and improve playback clarity.

The Fyne Audio Cubitt 5 audio system features built-in amplifiers, digital signal processing, and a crossover housed directly inside one of the speakers. The second speaker is passive. The system’s total claimed power output reaches 240 W. Support for high-resolution audio is also provided: the system can handle PCM signals up to 24-bit / 96 kHz. Fyne Audio emphasizes that the model was created as a complete standalone solution capable of delivering dynamic and confident sound without external electronics.
For wireless connection, the system uses Bluetooth 5.0 with support for aptX HD and AAC codecs. The manufacturer separately notes that the Bluetooth signal path has been carefully optimized to ensure the cleanest possible signal transmission to the amplifier module. At the same time, the Cubitt 5 is not limited to wireless connectivity: the system features a built-in phono stage for connecting a vinyl turntable, analogue inputs, an optical digital input, and an HDMI eARC port for connection to a TV. A subwoofer output is also provided, allowing the low-frequency range to be extended.

The package includes a compact remote control. It can be attached to the rear panel of one of the speakers so that it does not get lost and always remains close at hand. This approach highlights the system’s domestic focus: the Cubitt 5 is designed not only for audiophiles, but also for users who value simplicity, neat integration into an interior, and convenient everyday use.
According to Fyne Audio, the development of the Cubitt 5 took around two years. Following the brand’s move into the home cinema segment, this model demonstrates a further expansion of the lineup and the company’s intention to offer its signature technologies in a more versatile format. The Cubitt 5 could become a way for Fyne Audio to attract a new audience interested in high-quality sound but not ready to assemble a classic component system.

The Fyne Audio Cubitt 5 wireless audio system will be available in five finishes: Midnight Black, Pearl Titanium, Olive Green, Pebble Grey, and Arctic White. European sales are expected to begin in June 2026. The recommended retail price of the new model will be €649.
