Excalibur has expanded its cartridge lineup with the Midnight Blue (€1,899), engineered using cutting-edge materials. A boron cantilever, Microridge diamond stylus, and low-resonance Delrin body should, according to developers, provide exceptionally precise and detailed groove reading.

The Delrin body is a high-tech plastic that, thanks to high rigidity and excellent internal damping, has long been considered ideal for cartridge construction. Delrin creates an extremely "clean," resonance-controlled working environment for the cartridge mechanism.
The Excalibur Midnight Blue features a powerful Alnico magnet ensuring linear, phase-coherent behavior and stable 0.5 mV output at 1 kHz. The stylus geometry is calculated to read the finest sound groove modulations with minimal losses. The boron cantilever ranks among preferred High End solutions, offering extreme rigidity with simultaneously low mass.

The Microridge profile provides greater groove contact area than simpler profiles, reading more information while reducing distortion and extending stylus life. With medium compliance the Midnight Blue suits medium to heavy effective mass tonearms. The recommended 2 g tracking force provides a balanced compromise between secure groove contact and minimal wear.
