Constellation Audio Statement Mono – the Amplifier that Crowns the Statement Series

American company Constellation Audio has unveiled the Statement Mono monoblock power amplifier, which now sits at the very top of the flagship Statement lineup. The new model is aimed at those building a no-compromise Ultra High End system and seeking ultimate channel separation, enormous dynamic headroom, and the utmost in transparent, reference-grade sound. The only thing buyers will need to be prepared for in advance is the truly exceptional cost of such a solution.

The Constellation Audio Statement Mono monoblock is a logical extension of the previously introduced two-channel Statement Stereo model and features a new power architecture that the manufacturer describes as a combination of engineering precision and musical expressiveness. Instead of a traditional linear power supply with massive transformers, it uses the company’s proprietary Constellation Switched-Mode Power Supply, or C-SMPS, supplemented by advanced PFC power factor correction. According to the company, this architecture makes it possible to maintain an exceptionally stable 380 V supply regardless of mains conditions or speaker load complexity, while also reducing power supply noise by more than 20 dB compared with previous solutions.

In terms of output capability, the Statement Mono belongs among truly extreme amplifiers. A single monoblock delivers 1.7 kW into 8 ohms, 3.2 kW into 4 ohms, and 5.6 kW into 2 ohms; all figures are specified at 1 kHz and 0.2% THD. When two Statement Mono units are used in bridged mode, output rises to 6.4 kW into 8 ohms and 11.2 kW into 4 ohms. Constellation notes that in such a configuration, the limiting factor is no longer the amplifier itself, but the capability of the electrical supply. This remarkable performance is made possible by an output stage built around 96 high-current transistors, intended to provide the system with authoritative control, speed, and grip.

At the same time, the designers focused not only on sheer power figures, but also on the quality of amplification. The fully balanced input stage employs a parallel amplifier module topology, which further reduces noise by another 5 dB. This section is powered by its own fully regulated three-stage power supply. The amplifier’s specified frequency response extends from 0.5 Hz to 100 kHz with a deviation of +0 / -0.1 dB, total harmonic distortion remains below 0.05% across the entire audible band at 90% of rated power, damping factor exceeds 200, and the signal-to-noise ratio is greater than 114 dB.

For more flexible integration into high-end systems, the user can choose between two gain settings –  27.7 dB or 21.7 dB. Input impedance in balanced mode reaches 360 kOhm, further underlining the serious approach taken to matching the amplifier with a wide range of preamplifier stages.

Visually, the Constellation Audio Statement Mono is every bit as imposing as its technical specification suggests. The dimensions of each monoblock are 470 × 317 × 825 mm, while weight reaches 114 kg, meaning that installation will require a truly robust rack or dedicated furniture. The front panel features a large illuminated power meter calibrated specifically for the Statement platform, while the top section of the chassis is fitted with titanium ventilation grilles that both improve cooling and create the model’s distinctive appearance. Massive speaker terminals complete the construction, fully in keeping with the unit’s status.

The price of the new model fully matches its positioning. English-language sources indicate an approximate price of just under 500,000 US dollars per pair of monoblocks.
