Legacy Audio unveiled the new TALOS floorstanding loudspeakers at AXPONA 2026 in Chicago, adding them to its flagship Masters Collection series. These are active speakers with built-in electronics and DSP processing. The new model is designed to deliver both high performance and more precise sound tuning.
The Legacy Audio TALOS loudspeakers are built around six drivers and, according to the published specifications, reproduce a frequency range from 16 Hz to 30 kHz. The upper range is handled by two 3-inch AMT tweeters combined in the company’s proprietary Convergence Array. Midrange frequencies are reproduced by a 3-inch driver with a composite titanium and polyester diaphragm, arranged in a coaxial configuration with the tweeters. The design also incorporates a 12-inch midbass driver with a fiberglass cone.
The low-frequency range is handled by two 12-inch ultralinear bass drivers. They are supported by two 12-inch passive radiators using the company’s proprietary symmetrical loading system. According to the manufacturer, this configuration enables up to 4 inches of peak-to-peak excursion while maintaining bass precision and control even at high listening levels.

One of the key features of the Legacy Audio TALOS model is its fully integrated active section. Each speaker is equipped with built-in amplification delivering a total output of 3 kW based on ICEpower modules operating in Class D. In addition, the package includes the Wavelet 2 processor, which is used to implement a 5-channel active crossover and room-correction system that takes the acoustic characteristics of the listening space into account. A balanced XLR input is provided for connection. Thus, TALOS are not simply loudspeakers, but effectively a complete audio solution in which the amplification stage, filtering, and digital signal processing are fully integrated by the manufacturer.
In terms of size, the Legacy Audio TALOS belong to the large-format loudspeaker category: each cabinet stands 135 cm high, measures 43 cm in width and 56 cm in depth, while weight reaches 114 kg. Clearly, the model is aimed at spacious listening rooms and high-end audio systems.
The manufacturer has also placed emphasis on the variety of available finishes. Buyers can choose from standard options such as Black Oak, Medium Oak, Walnut, and Natural Cherry, as well as more premium versions including Rosewood, Birdseye Maple, Curly Maple, Black Pearl, White Pearl, Olive Ash Burl, and several Sapele Pommele finishes. Depending on the selected finish, the price of the Legacy Audio TALOS ranges from 65,000 to 75,000 US dollars per pair.
