Our new editorial ranking features seven of the most impressive new bookshelf loudspeaker systems. This format doesn't take up much space in a room, allowing the speakers to fit even in a small office. And modern technology makes it possible to achieve true Hi-Fi and high-end (in higher price segments) sound from small enclosures. So, here's the parade of winners for the Fall 2025 season.

Pros - Accurate sound at a low price
Equipped with a 1-inch C-CAM tweeter with a UD waveguide and a 6-inch midrange/bass woofer, the Monitor Audio Bronze 50 7G plays down to 41 Hz and offers 86 dB of sensitivity at 8 ohms. The reimagined design of the well-known speakers now boasts the latest generation of C-CAM drivers, new crossovers, and a bass reflex port – achieving surprisingly accurate sound for its price range.

Pros - Dynamic and open sound
The Acoustic Energy AE300² is used A 1.14" tweeter with a fabric dome and a 4.72" main driver made of paper and coconut fiber. The model plays from 41 Hz at 86 dB sensitivity into 6 ohms of nominal impedance. The highlight of these speakers (besides the state-of-the-art drivers) is their sophisticated enclosures, assembled from thin 18 mm MDF panels with an RSC cone and bitumen. This design dampens resonances better than expensive aluminum, so the openness and liveliness of their presentation deserve a long and sustained round of applause.

Pros: Flexible speakers that's easy to fall in love with
The special edition DALI Menuet SE uses a 1.1" tweeter and 4.33" midrange/woofer driver, allowing the speakers to reproduce notes as low as 59 Hz with 86 dB sensitivity and 4 ohms impedance. These loudspeakers utilize a significantly modified crossover, based on Mundorf components and housed in an electrically shielded enclosure. Furthermore, the woofers now feature a glass fiber voice coil. These touches make this already impressively musical model even better – but it's best to choose a more serious amplifier for the speakers.

Pros – exceptionally detailed and composed performance
The T+A Talis R 330 is equipped with a 1” tweeter and a large 6.7” main driver. The speakers play from 35 Hz and offer 85 dB sensitivity at 4 ohms. The very stringent amplifier requirements impose clear limitations, but once you open the model, you'll be literally amazed by the benchmark precision and muscularity of the sound. There are plenty of engineering innovations here – enclosures with side panels integrated with a Wrap Around Baffle, increasing the internal volume to 20 liters, as well as drivers with extra-powerful magnets.

Pros: Very lively performance with exemplary detail
The Børresen Z1 Cryo Edition uses a ribbon tweeter and a 5” main driver. The loudspeaker plays down to 50 Hz and offers 86 dB of sensitivity at 6 ohms. This is another example of exceptionally precise, ultra-high-resolution sound – and a masterpiece of engineering. In addition to the cryogenic treatment of all metal components (during the first 24 hours, the metal undergoes a cooling process from room temperature to cryogenic temperatures, then is kept at -196°C for another 24 hours, and then warmed up to room temperature for the next 24 hours), it's worth noting the Børresen RP94 ribbon planar tweeters with a 0.01 gram moving mass, the 5.5 gram carbon honeycomb cones of the main drivers, and Iron-free magnetic systems with an 8 mm voice coil and 0.06 mH induction!

Pros – High-end sound at its finest
The Focal Diablo Utopia EVO is equipped with a 1.06" tweeter and a 6.5" midrange/bass driver. These loudspeakers reproduce notes down to 44 Hz and offer 89 dB of sensitivity at 8 ohms. This is a true example of genuine high-end sound – mature, creating large, physically tangible images with genuine brilliance and a luxurious richness of timbre. The IAL2 beryllium inverted-dome tweeter, the main driver with a double-layer glass fiber cone, and the patented power magnet system Flower - everything is good here.
