The Czech company Xavian has introduced the La Boema floorstanding loudspeaker. The new model is not just another addition to the lineup, but also a tribute to the Czech Republic and a commemorative project marking the brand’s 30th anniversary.

The Xavian La Boema features a sealed enclosure design, which should simplify room placement and make the speakers less dependent on positioning relative to walls. With a sensitivity of 85 dB, the system requires careful amplifier matching with sufficient power reserves, although, according to the manufacturer, it does not necessarily demand an extremely powerful amplifier.

During the development of La Boema, Xavian used amplifiers from Norma Audio and Levante by Riviera Audio Labs. This provides an indication of the level of electronics the manufacturer expects to pair with the new loudspeaker.

The model is built in a three-way configuration and is equipped with drivers from the Danish manufacturer ScanSpeak. The front baffle is 57 mm thick, and each speaker weighs an impressive 50 kg, underlining the serious approach to construction and vibration control. Optional stainless steel feet with lockable anti-vibration supports are also available for La Boema, supplied by the Slovak company Authentic Audio Image.

The Xavian La Boema loudspeakers are made exclusively to order. Buyers can choose from a range of natural wood veneer finishes, including exotic options such as Indian rosewood, pommele sapele, and ziricote.
