Wiener Lautsprecher Manufaktur GmbH has introduced the WLM 300 B – a high-sensitivity reference-class loudspeaker system designed primarily for use with low-powered tube amplifiers. The model is aimed at listeners who value not so much maximum volume and impressive power figures, but lively dynamics, natural timbres, coherent musical presentation and emotional expressiveness. The name WLM 300 B directly refers to the famous 300B tube, which has long been regarded as one of the symbols of High End tube sound.
The directly heated 300B triode occupies a special place in audiophile culture. Amplifiers based on these tubes usually do not offer high output power, but they are valued for their transparency, fluidity, rich midrange and ability to convey music with a sense of immediacy. However, to fully realise these qualities, they require suitable loudspeakers – with high sensitivity, an easy load and the ability to play confidently from just a few watts. The WLM 300 B was created precisely for this scenario.

The stated sensitivity of the new loudspeaker system is 96 dB. According to Wiener Lautsprecher Manufaktur, the WLM 300 B can fully reveal its potential with as little as 2 W per channel. This makes the model suitable not only for single-ended triode amplifiers, but also for other tube circuits, as well as WLM’s own amplification solutions. At the same time, the manufacturer emphasises that the loudspeaker should not impose its own character on the electronics, but rather help preserve the individuality of the connected amplifier.
One of the key features of the WLM 300 B is a large AMT high-frequency driver with an unusually low crossover frequency of 900 Hz. This solution was chosen to achieve a more coherent and integrated performance in the area most critical to music perception. The AMT driver is complemented by a wooden horn machined from a solid block of wood. According to the developers, this design is intended to combine speed, dynamic contrast, natural presentation and precise soundstage reproduction.
The mid/bass range is handled by a 12-inch driver with Tetracoil technology. Wiener Lautsprecher Manufaktur believes that a large radiating surface is important not only for confident bass reproduction, but also for a free, full-bodied and large-scale presentation of the midrange. In combination with the AMT tweeter, this architecture is intended to provide fast response, dense sonic texture, expressive macrodynamics and a high degree of listener involvement.
According to the manufacturer, the main WLM 300 B system is capable of linear reproduction down to 36 Hz without the use of additional subwoofers. At the same time, the model is not presented as a highly specialised solution intended exclusively for a large dedicated listening room. On the contrary, the WLM 300 B is positioned as a reference loudspeaker that still retains a residential character, where scale is expressed not only through physical dimensions, but also through the freedom, authority and musical persuasiveness of its sound.

For those who need even deeper and more physically tangible bass, the manufacturer offers an active subwoofer section. In the expanded version, the system is complemented by two 18-inch subwoofers with Tetracoil technology. In this configuration, the claimed frequency range of the complete system is 22 Hz to 22 kHz, turning the WLM 300 B into a full-range system designed both to convey fine nuances and to reproduce the fundamental foundation of musical material.
The WLM 300 B cabinets are made from solid pear wood, with wall thickness reaching up to 7 cm. This construction is intended to increase cabinet rigidity and reduce unwanted resonances. Like other Wiener Lautsprecher Manufaktur models, the loudspeaker can be produced in individual finishes and tuned according to the customer’s wishes. The price of the WLM 300 B depends on the selected configuration and ranges from €28,000 to €42,000 per pair; details on finishes, versions and delivery times are provided by the manufacturer on request.
