Exposure Electronics has expanded its flagship 5510 Series with the addition of the 5510 Power Amplifier mono power amplifiers. The model is designed as a partner for the Exposure 5510 preamplifier and makes it possible to build a separate three-box amplification system aimed at listeners who value high dynamics, precise loudspeaker control and the cleanest possible signal transmission.
The new monoblocks are intended to serve as a more serious alternative to traditional stereo power amplifiers. According to Exposure, separate channel amplification helps achieve more stable operation, better channel separation and more confident control of loudspeaker systems. Particular attention in the design has been paid to low noise, reliability and the amplifier’s ability to maintain composure even when driving complex low-impedance loads.

Each Exposure 5510 Power Amplifier is equipped with a large custom-made toroidal transformer, working together with high-quality smoothing capacitors with screw terminals. The amplification stage is built around carefully selected bipolar transistors, while the fully DC-coupled circuitry is intended to provide more accurate signal transmission without unnecessary coupling elements in the signal path. This approach should have a positive effect on transparency, coherence and speed of sound.
For safe operation, overload protection and a thermal cut-out are provided. The rear panel includes both balanced and unbalanced inputs, making it easier to integrate the amplifier into different systems. Loudspeakers are connected via two pairs of high-quality screened 4 mm terminals. The chassis is made of aluminium and designed to reduce unwanted resonances; the only announced finish option is black.

The output power of one Exposure 5510 Power Amplifier monoblock is rated at 200 W into an 8-ohm load and 370 W into 4 ohms. The input impedance of the unbalanced input is specified at 75 kOhm at 1 kHz, while the frequency response extends up to 52 kHz at –3 dB. Total harmonic distortion does not exceed 0.015% at 200 W into 8 ohms and 1 kHz, and falls to less than 0.005% at 100 W into the same load.
The signal-to-noise ratio exceeds 120 dB A-weighted relative to 200 W into 8 ohms, or more than 100 dB relative to 1 W into 8 ohms. The amplifier measures 440 x 115 x 300 mm and weighs 14 kg. The new Exposure 5510 Power Amplifier monoblocks are already available in the UK, with a recommended retail price of £7,300 per pair.
