Wilson Benesch is preparing the world premiere of its new Greenwich vinyl turntable, which will take place next weekend at the Audio Show Deluxe in Whittlebury, United Kingdom. According to the manufacturer, this model represents the next stage in the evolution of the company’s proprietary GMT analog platform and demonstrates the further development of the brand’s core technologies in the field of vinyl playback.

The new product will be presented as part of a carefully assembled reference system that includes Wilson Benesch cartridges and loudspeakers. This approach will allow visitors to hear the Greenwich in conditions that fully reveal its capabilities and sonic character. The demonstration system will feature Resolution 3zero loudspeakers, complemented by several IGx infrasonic generators designed to extend the low-frequency range and enable more precise integration with the room. The phono stage chosen for the system is the Masterline 7 from Swiss company HSE Audio, while amplification is provided by Trilogy components – the 995R monoblocks and the reference Trilogy 914 preamplifier.

The Wilson Benesch Greenwich is positioned as the entry-level model in the GMT range, giving listeners access to the same direct-drive architecture used in the flagship Prime Meridian and GMT One turntables. At the heart of the design are the patented Omega Direct Drive motor and Alpha Drive control electronics. Together, they form the Alpha-Omega platform – the fundamental technological basis on which Wilson Benesch’s reference analog source concept is built.

This architecture was first demonstrated with the GMT One model at the High End Audio Show 2024 in Munich, where it effectively established a new benchmark for analog playback in the company’s view. The platform was later further developed in the Prime Meridian turntable, which introduced more sophisticated construction solutions and improved damping methods, while the core drive technology itself remained unchanged.

As the manufacturer emphasizes, the Greenwich opens a new chapter in the development of the GMT platform. This model is conceived as the starting point of the entire architecture, allowing a wider audience of listeners to experience Wilson Benesch’s proprietary technology without compromising its key engineering principles. As one moves up through the GMT range, the chassis, isolation elements, and overall structural execution become progressively more advanced, while the Alpha-Omega drive platform itself remains unchanged, serving as the foundation of the entire series.
