Technics has released a new Technics SL-50C turntable – unlike the previously announced Technics SL-40CBT, this device lacks a Bluetooth wireless transmission module, but supports playback speeds of 33, 45 and 78 rpm, which makes the device suitable for collections with rarer records. The price of the Technics SL-50C corresponds to the price of the Technics SL-40CBT - $899.99.
Technics SL-50C is housed in an MDF cabinet and is equipped with a direct drive with a proprietary brushless motor. It also uses an aluminum cast support platter with stiffening ribs, directly connected to the motor rotor.
Technics SL-50C is ready to work "out of the box" - thanks to the factory-installed proprietary S-shaped tonearm made of aluminum and a decent Ortofon 2M Red cartridge with an elliptical needle sharpening. The built-in MM phono preamplifier is not forgotten either.
Sales of the model will begin in September 2025.
