Technics SL-40CBT uses a direct drive with a proprietary brushless motor, the design of which eliminates the “cogging” effect and ensures extremely stable rotation. Precise control electronics further improve speed accuracy. The turntable uses an aluminum cast platter with stiffening ribs, directly connected to the motor rotor, which further maintains torque stability.

A new S-shaped proprietary aluminum tonearm is pre-installed at the factory, and optimized isolating feet increase stability and vibration protection of the turntable. The Technics SL-40CBT is a full-fledged plug-n-play system – it also comes with a factory-installed Audio-Technica AT-VM95C cartridge. Playback speeds of 33 and 45 rpm are supported.
