Unita has released its first external digital-to-analog converter, the Unitra DSH-805 DAC. The retail price of the new product in Europe will be 2,999 euros.
Unita DSH-805 uses four ESS Technology Sabre ES9039MS PRO Hyperstream IV chips per channel, which allows it to demonstrate outstanding signal-to-noise ratio of 125-126 dB and negligible distortion (0.001% with balanced connection and less than 0.00015% with unbalanced). The frequency range extends from 1 Hz to 20 kHz (with the strictest error of ±0.1 dB), expanding to 65 kHz (±1 dB).
The Unitra DSH-805 DAC linear power supply is built on a toroidal transformer made in Poland and designed specifically for the DSH-805 architecture. The unit has EMI filtering and produces five independently stabilized voltages, separately for the digital and analog parts. The analog output stage is built on 18 OPA161x operational amplifiers, known for their low noise and wide dynamic range. Unitra DSH-805 DAC supports a wide range of digital formats: PCM up to 32 bit/768 kHz via USB, PCM up to 24 bit/192 kHz via coaxial, optical and AES/EBU inputs, DSD Native up to DSD512 via USB, DoP up to DSD256, DoP DSD64 via S/PDIF. There is full support for MQA/MQA Studio (decoder and renderer), as well as playback of OFS streams pre-decoded by external sources. There are 7 digital PCM filters for sound adjustment.
