SVS Ultra Evolution Flagship Series Speakers Unveiled

SVS has announced its latest series of SVS Ultra Evolution speakers – the lineup includes three floorstanding speakers, two bookshelf speakers, a three-way center speaker, and a surround speaker.

The series is immediately striking with its curved front panel, which aligns the vertical emission point of the tweeter and each driver, ensuring that the sound from each driver reaches the listener simultaneously (a concept known as driver time synchronization). In the floorstanding speakers, the midrange drivers and woofers, positioned above and below the tweeter, create an ideal "point source" of sound.

The diamond-coated aluminum dome tweeter is also completely new to SVS. Using vapor deposition, a diamond-coated carbon layer is applied to the aluminum dome surface to increase rigidity and improve critical acoustic properties, significantly extending the frequency response.

The midrange and woofers in all models feature glass fiber composite cones, selected for their superior stiffness-to-weight ratio. Separate, acoustically tuned inner chambers for the midrange drivers eliminate potential cabinet resonance. Cast aluminum baskets ensure precise alignment of critical components and maximize heat dissipation.

The woofers in the series, of course, draw on the company's extensive subwoofer expertise. Similar in design to the 3000 Micro subwoofer, the drivers, aimed synchronously in different directions (a balanced array), guarantee truly powerful bass. The mechanical energy of each front woofer is compensated for within the enclosure by the rear woofer, eliminating coloration.

It's also worth noting that the new drivers feature beveled front panels that minimize edge diffraction for optimal off-axis frequency response.

·       Ultra Evolution Center: 3-way center channel speaker - $799.99

·       Ultra Elevation: Versatile home theater speaker with multi-angle wall/ceiling mounting bracket - $899.98/pair

Ultra Evolution Nano and Ultra Evolution Tower models will ship later in Q2. Finish options will be limited at launch. All models will soon be available in Piano Gloss Black, Piano Gloss White, and Premium Black Oak Wood Veneer finishes.
