Rotel Michi Prestige Q430 and X430 – the First Components in the Michi Prestige Series

Rotel has introduced two new components under the Michi brand that launch the new Prestige series – the Michi Prestige Q430 CD player and the Michi Prestige X430 integrated amplifier. The new range is conceived as a more accessible alternative to the brand’s higher-end Michi components, while retaining the key engineering solutions and signature styling familiar from the flagship Reference series.

At the core of the Prestige series are proven Michi technologies: Rotel’s proprietary toroidal transformers, carefully engineered circuit separation, and a low-noise architecture. Both new models are aimed at listeners seeking a serious level of sound quality and build execution, but in a more affordable segment compared to the brand’s higher-tier products.

The Michi Prestige Q430 is a compact disc player with a tray-loading mechanism. Particular attention in its design has been paid to reducing vibrations that could affect disc-reading accuracy. To minimize electrical interference, the unit is equipped with a regulated power supply. At the same time, the model is designed exclusively for the CD format and does not support SACD playback.

The player’s digital stage is built around a fully balanced architecture using the ESS Technology Sabre ES9028PRO chip. Multiple channels of the DAC are used in parallel for each stereo channel, which, according to the designers, helps reduce noise and improve output signal quality. For connectivity, both unbalanced RCA outputs and balanced XLR outputs are provided. In addition, the unit features a coaxial digital output, allowing the use of an external digital-to-analog converter.

On the front panel of the Michi Prestige Q430 there is a color display capable of showing album artwork. The chassis is made of aluminum and styled to match the X430 amplifier, allowing the two units to form a visually cohesive pair. An aluminum IR remote control is included in the package.

The Michi Prestige X430 is a Class AB integrated amplifier delivering 210 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 340 watts per channel into 4 ohms. The unit is equipped with a specially developed toroidal power transformer and powerful discrete output stages. The manufacturer emphasizes that the amplifier is designed to drive even demanding loudspeakers with confidence while maintaining low distortion and self-noise.

The amplifier’s digital section is built around the ESS Sabre ES9039Q2M chip. The model is equipped with coaxial, optical, and USB inputs, with USB supporting PCM and DSD audio streams. Bluetooth is also included with aptX HD and AAC codec support, while HDMI with ARC and CEC is provided for TV integration.

The Michi Prestige X430’s feature set is further enhanced by two outputs for active subwoofers, two switchable pairs of speaker terminals, an MM phono stage, several analog inputs, and a front display that can function as both a VU meter and a spectrum analyzer. Like the CD player, the amplifier is housed in an aluminum chassis and features a large volume control knob.

Shipments of both models are expected to begin in the second quarter of 2026. In Europe, the Michi Prestige Q430 is priced at 3,990 euros, while the recommended retail price of the Michi Prestige X430 integrated amplifier is 4,990 euros.
