Oladra – a New Brand within the Antipodes Audio Structure

New Zealand-based company Antipodes Audio has announced the completion of the development of the Oladra platform and, at the same time, introduced Oladra as an independent brand specializing in reference-level digital audio sources. The first products under the new brand are the Oladra Sentia and Oladra Presence. With this move, the manufacturer has effectively spun off into a separate direction an engineering concept that has been taking shape for more than ten years and is focused on how the digital chain influences the final musical result at the moment a file or digital stream is converted into an audio signal.

According to the developers, the Oladra platform was designed from the outset as a dedicated audio system rather than an adapted version of a general-purpose computer architecture. Antipodes Audio emphasizes that conventional computing solutions inevitably introduce instability into data processing, power consumption, and the electrical behaviour of the system, which in turn can affect signal formation. In the case of the Oladra Platform, a holistic approach is used in which the hardware, firmware, and software were developed from the ground up as a unified architecture specifically for audio playback tasks.

At the core of the platform is the idea that the character and structure of the audio signal are established at the source, and that distortions arising at this stage cannot be fully corrected later on. Antipodes Audio believes that stable timing parameters and predictable system behaviour at the signal formation stage allow the signal to retain its integrity throughout the entire audio chain. Accordingly, this approach is intended to minimize the need for subsequent signal correction in other parts of the system.

The Sentia model became the first device built on the Oladra platform and is regarded as its basic implementation. It is a standalone digital source that combines all the key elements of the new architecture. The unit is designed both for use with streaming services and for playback from local and network music libraries.

The second new product, the Oladra Presence, is also based on the same platform, but represents a more advanced interpretation of it. This model has been further developed both in terms of physical construction and architectural execution. Presence also supports streaming and playback from local or network storage, but is positioned as a more extensive embodiment of the entire Oladra concept.

According to the company’s plan, spinning Oladra off into a separate brand should allow this direction to develop independently and consistently. At the same time, Antipodes Audio retains its role as the parent company and will continue producing digital audio sources from the Kala family in parallel with the development of the new Oladra line.

The recommended retail price of the Oladra Sentia starts at USD 35,000, while the Oladra Presence is priced from USD 58,000. Both models are already available to order, and their debut will take place at AXPONA 2026, which will be held from April 10 to 12, 2026, at the Schaumburg Convention Center near Chicago, USA.
