The Serbian company NAT Audio has introduced the NAT Transmitter EVO tube monoblock amplifier – the best amplifier in the Transmitter series to date, according to the manufacturer. The output stage of the NAT Transmitter Evo amplifier can operate in two modes – high power up to 80 W or low power up to a moderate 40 W. Both modes use a directly heated triode in a single-ended connection. With a power of 80 W in a single-ended configuration, it is possible to choose almost any speaker system as a partner - NAT Transmitter EVO is capable of working with speaker systems with an impedance of 2 to 16 Ohms.
The output tube in the NAT Transmitter EVO monoblock is a Philips QB5/1750, capable of dissipating up to 565 W of energy. The Transmitter EVO amplifier uses only 35% of the maximum dissipation power, which significantly reduces the operating temperature for increased reliability. The design of the output tube is very robust mechanically, which resulted in sound reproduction without the microphonic effect. The specially designed amplifier housing, made of stainless steel, further improved vibration isolation from the environment, which contributes to an increase in sound detail.
The input and driver tube (6N6P) in the Transmitter EVO is NOS, manufactured according to military standards. The amplifier uses a wide-band output transformer specially designed for NAT. The power supply of the NAT Transmitter EVO amplifier is designed for twice the power consumed by the device when operating at maximum output power. Separate voltage stabilizers are provided for all stages of the amplifier, including the output one. Thanks to the automatic bias current circuit, no adjustment of the output tube current is required. The NAT Transmitter EVO monoblock uses the highest level components - military-grade graphite resistors, Ohmite resistors, Vishay 0.1% resistors, Cornell-Dublier capacitors with ultra-low equivalent series resistance, electrolytic capacitors rated for operation at temperatures up to 105°C, the latest generation of semiconductors, laboratory-grade connectors, input wiring made of pure silver.
The basic version of the NAT Transmitter EVO power amplifier, along with an unbalanced input on the RCA connector, is equipped with a pseudo-balanced input on the XLR connector. The manufacturer offers two options for upgrading the amplifier - the first stage is the implementation of a purely balanced input using a hand-wound nanocrystalline transformer. The second stage involves the use of a transformer wound with copper-free silver wire for this purpose.
