The French company Métronome has announced the DSAS music server (Digital Sharing Audio Server), the software for which was created by Audirvāna – a well-known developer of streaming software players.
Métronome DSAS is part of the company's Digital Sharing series and offers a complete hardware and software solution for managing local and streaming music libraries from a single device. The server allows local storage of up to 2 TB of music on the built-in SSD (expandable to 4 TB) and can function as a transport that requires the use of an external DAC unit (for example, DSC mini from the same series).
The Métronome DSAS software runs on Audirvāna Studio, which uses modified Linux, with control via the Android and iOS Audirvāna mobile application. The RAM is 4 GB, the interfaces include a USB port for an external drive, as well as Ethernet and Wi-Fi (UPnP), Chromecast. The device supports PCM and DSD streams and has built-in clients for Qobuz, Tidal, HRA, Presto Music. The cherry on the cake is SoX upsampling, R8brain up to DSD1024, and a 10-band parametric equalizer.
The recommended retail price of the Métronome DSAS audio server in Europe is 5,990 euros. The price includes a three-year subscription to the Audirvāna Studio software package and a permanent Audirvāna Origin license for working with a local library.
