According to news, Masimo Corporation, the owner of the audiophile brands B&W (Bowers & Wilkins), Denon and Marantz, has signed an agreement to sell these brands to Harman International - the deal is currently in the process of receiving regulatory approvals.

B&W (Bowers & Wilkins), Denon and Marantz previously belonged to Sound United, which was acquired by Masimo in 2022. Since Masimo's main activity is professional medical sector, the intention to sell the brands and focus on innovations in the field of healthcare seems quite logical and is in line with the new strategy of focusing the company's efforts. Harman International, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics since 2017, which has about 30,000 employees, operating in the high-quality audio market, also acquires buy-in from the deal. The deal is expected to close by the end of 2025.

Dave Rogers, President of Lifestyle, Harman International, said: “This acquisition represents a strategic step forward in the expansion of Harman’s core audio business and footprint across key product categories such as Home Audio, Headphones, Hi-fi components, and Car Audio."
