Linn has announced new upgrade components for the iconic Linn Sondek LP12 turntable (in production since 1973 and considered one of the most impressive turntables in terms of sound quality).
The impressive external power and control unit of the Linn Klimax Radikal is housed in a three-piece machined aluminum enclosure. Weighing in at 14 kg, it features a built-in vibration-decoupling system using stainless steel and rubber feet. The Linn Klimax Radikal uses a highly accurate speed control system, ensuring consistent platter rotation with minimal speed error.
The motor is digitally controlled, powered by the renowned Utopik power supply. The power supply features separate power lines for the motor drive and the built-in Urika phono preamplifier. These lines are independent and self-regulating based on the needs of the devices.
The second new product is the Linn Keel SE, a subchassis for the Sondek LP12. This model offers benchmark rigidity, optimized resonance response, and precise mass distribution. A complex system of stiffeners, machined from the underside of the Keel SE and designed through a combination of hand-finishing and computer optimization, guarantees a 300% improvement in rigidity compared to previous versions!
The Linn Keel SE more effectively dissipates problematic acoustic energy, reducing its impact on the musical signal. An idealized center of mass has improved weight distribution between the turntable's suspension springs, significantly improving the sound of the Linn Sondek LP12.
