Linn has introduced an update to its flagship Linn 360 loudspeakers. The key change is the brand’s first-ever in-house low-frequency drivers, built around a new Pistonik motor system. Until now, the Linn 360 loudspeakers used bass drivers from third-party manufacturers. These have now been replaced with proprietary 6-inch upper-bass units and 8-inch woofers. Development of the new drivers took approximately three years.

The company notes that the previous off-the-shelf bass drivers were among the last remaining external components in the 360 design and had been limiting the system’s overall performance. According to Linn, this section was also the most significant source of distortion and noise.

The new drivers feature aluminium diaphragms, chosen for their combination of high rigidity and low mass. The Pistonik motor system is designed to provide more precise control over the magnetic, mechanical and thermal behaviour of the driver under load.

The design incorporates a fully saturated magnetic structure to reduce so-called “magnetic drag,” along with a three-stage ventilation system to dissipate heat and regulate air pressure. Linn says this approach helps the drivers maintain linearity and control across different listening levels.

The update will be introduced in the Linn 360 Exakt Integrated and Linn 360 Passive with Active Bass models starting from April 2026. Existing 360 owners will also be able to upgrade, with the new drivers installed by authorised dealers in-home. The process takes up to two hours, according to the company.

The loudspeakers remain part of the Linn Exakt ecosystem, where a digital crossover and time-alignment correction are used to optimise driver integration. The new units can also be configured via Exakt software.
Alongside the technical changes, Linn has introduced a new finish option – walnut veneer with black or silver trim. Pricing is set at £99,500 per pair for the Linn 360 Exakt Integrated and £67,000 for the Linn 360 Passive with Active Bass. The Pistonik driver upgrade package is priced at £16,500.
