FiiO K17 R2R Pro – Now with an R2R DAC

FiiO has announced the K17 R2R Pro, a compact all-in-one desktop component that combines a digital-to-analog converter, network streamer and headphone amplifier in a single chassis. The new model continues the brand’s desktop lineup and follows the design philosophy of the K15 and K19. The first public showing of the FiiO K17 R2R Pro is scheduled for the High End Vienna 2026, which will take place in June.

The key feature of the model is its proprietary R2R DAC based on a resistor ladder architecture with a 5+24-bit design. This approach is aimed at delivering a more natural, “analog-like” sound and allows users to choose between two operating modes: NOS (no oversampling) and OS (with oversampling). Switching between these modes enables users to tailor the sound character to their preferences and the source material.

Headphone amplification in the FiiO K17 R2R Pro is handled by a discrete Class AB stage. The unit is rated at up to 4W per channel, making it suitable for a wide range of headphones, from sensitive in-ear monitors to more demanding full-size models, including planar designs. The available power headroom is intended to maintain control and dynamic performance even with challenging loads.

The networking and digital capabilities are designed for flexible use. The K17 R2R Pro supports local playback, as well as wired and wireless streaming. Connectivity includes dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4/5 GHz), Gigabit Ethernet and support for QPlay on compatible devices. This allows the unit to function not only as a desktop solution but also as a network source within a full Hi-Fi system.

For sound customization, the device features a 31-band parametric equalizer with Auto EQ functionality. Settings can be adjusted via the FiiO Control app or through a web interface, with profiles stored directly on the device. This makes it easy to switch between different tuning setups for headphones, systems or listening environments.

Additional features include a USB ground loop isolator designed to reduce noise when connected to digital sources, as well as a low-noise 35W linear power supply. The front panel is equipped with a 3.93-inch touchscreen, providing access to playback controls, system settings and visual indicators, including VU meters. An aluminum infrared remote control is also included.

The FiiO K17 R2R Pro is designed for users seeking a versatile desktop hub for headphones, while also serving as a полноценный digital source for a Hi-Fi system. Pricing has not yet been announced. Further technical details and commercial information are expected to be revealed during its June debut in Vienna.
