JBL has introduced three new models of loudspeakers in the JBL Summit series - so, the JBL Summit line now includes five models (JBL Everest and K2) and new models JBL Summit Makalu, Summit Pumori and Summit Ama. The Summit series with the addition of JBL Summit Makalu, Summit Pumori and Summit Ama combines design, patented technologies and signature chic sound dynamics. Each model is inspired by one of the Himalayan peaks - hence the names.
Named after Makalu, the fifth highest mountain in the world, JBL Summit Makalu loudspeakers use a three-way configuration based on a 12” woofer, 8” midrange driver (both with patented HC4 composite cones) and a patented D2 compression driver in an HDI Sonoglass horn.
Inspired by Mount Pumori, the JBL Summit Pumori is also a three-way speaker, but with a 10” woofer, 8” midrange driver and a D2 tweeter in an HDI horn.
Finally, inspired by the peak of Ama Dablam, the JBL Summit Ama bookshelf speaker is a two-way speaker with an 8” HC4 midrange/bass driver and a D2 compression tweeter in an HDI horn.
The JBL Summit’s reinforced cabinets are smoothly contoured to eliminate resonance. The speaker terminals are wrapped in carbon fiber and coated in rhodium. MultiCap filters ensure signal purity throughout the audio circuit. The icing on the cake are the adjustable JBL IsoAcoustics vibration isolation mounts.
The new models of the JBL Summit series of speakers will be available in the second half of 2025 at the following suggested retail prices:
– JBL Summit Ama (with stands) — $19,995 USD / €17,498
– JBL Summit Pumori — $29,995 USD / €30,998
– JBL Summit Makalu - $44,995 / €43,998
Full specs will be published soon.

The company MSB Technology presented a very interesting solution to the eternal problem that arises after the introduction of an active subwoofer into the path - interference from the power amplifiers built into the bass modules can degrade the signal quality, transmitting noise back into the signal lines. The MSB Technology The Pro Sub Isolator is designed to correct this drawback.
