Jadis Aria – a New Entry-Level Tube Integrated Amplifier

French company Jadis Electronics has expanded its lineup with the new Aria integrated tube amplifier, which replaces the Orchestra and now takes the position of the entry-level model in the brand’s catalog. That said, it should not be seen as a budget solution: this is still a full-fledged High End component, built in keeping with Jadis traditions.

One of the key changes is the move to a 430 mm wide chassis. This makes the amplifier easier to integrate into a classic Hi-Fi rack. The model has also changed visually: whereas the power transformers on the Orchestra were left exposed, on the Aria they are now covered by a neatly designed metal shroud, giving the unit a more refined and contemporary appearance.

From a technical standpoint, one of the main features of the new model is support for several different output tube types. The amplifier can operate with EL34, KT88, KT120, and 6CA7 tubes, giving the owner more freedom to tailor the sound character to personal taste. Unlike the Jadis i35, however, bias adjustment here is performed manually.

The manufacturer has also revised the finish options. The Jadis Aria is offered in stainless steel with either black or white decorative elements. Another important difference from its predecessor is the remote control, which is now included as standard.

Despite its position as the junior model, the Jadis Aria is by no means a compromised design. The amplifier delivers 10 watts per channel, and although that output may seem modest by modern standards, Jadis emphasizes not the numbers but the sonic character. According to the company, the unit is capable of a rich, expressive, and emotionally engaging presentation.

In terms of construction, the amplifier is built on a non-magnetic stainless steel chassis and is complemented by wooden side panels. The tubes are mounted in ceramic sockets with gold-plated contacts, while the internal circuitry employs Jadis’ signature point-to-point wiring, also used in the brand’s more expensive models. The preamplifier stage uses two ECC83 vacuum tubes and one ECC82, working with a push-pull output stage.

Jadis notes that the Aria is the result of serious engineering work aimed at creating a true high-end amplifier with a more approachable entry price into the brand. At the same time, the company stresses that the new model remains fully faithful to Jadis’ core principles, both in its design and in its musical presentation.

The specified frequency response extends from 20 Hz to 55 kHz (-3 dB), while connectivity includes five RCA line inputs. On the European market, the Jadis Aria is already available at a price of 4,800 euros.
