Radiant Acoustics Clarity 66 – the Danish Brand’s Third Loudspeaker Model

Radiant Acoustics has introduced the Clarity 66, the third loudspeaker system in its lineup and the brand’s first floorstanding model. After two bookshelf speakers, the company has moved into a more serious segment with a flagship loudspeaker that, according to its developers, most fully reflects the Radiant Acoustics approach to sound. The manufacturer promises a combination of high power, deep bass, precision, and an extremely low level of distortion.

The company describes the Clarity 66 as the culmination of the Clarity series’ development. The new model is said to combine expansive dynamics, a confident and controlled low-frequency range, and a clean, natural midrange. Its design is based on a combination of proven solutions and new engineering developments, allowing the speaker, according to the brand, to maintain transparency and composure even at very high volume levels.

As company founder Peter Lyngdorf noted, the goal in creating the Clarity 66 was to deliver the scale and energy potential of large floorstanding speakers while preserving the coherence, integration, and rhythmic precision characteristic of a classic two-way design. To realize this idea, Radiant Acoustics enlisted Purifi engineers, with whom the new model was developed.

The Radiant Acoustics Clarity 66 uses two 6.5-inch Purifi Ushindi woofers/midrange drivers operating in parallel. This solution increases dynamic headroom, reduces distortion, and strengthens the bass foundation without compromising midrange quality. Unlike many large loudspeakers with more complex multi-way architectures, the Clarity 66 is built as a two-way model, which should have a positive effect on phase coherence and overall sonic integration.

The high-frequency range is handled by a fully symmetrical AMT tweeter. The manufacturer emphasizes its ability to deliver a high level of detail, wide dynamic range, and even sound dispersion throughout the listening area. It is complemented by the brand’s proprietary waveguide, already familiar from the Clarity 6.2 model, which broadens the optimal listening zone and helps integrate the tweeter more precisely with the main drivers.

The developers also paid special attention to the acoustic loading. For the Clarity 66, Purifi created the patented Superflare bass reflex port, designed to move large volumes of air with minimal turbulence, noise, and compression. According to company representatives, this makes it possible to achieve deep, powerful, yet well-controlled bass that retains its clarity even at high volume levels.

No less attention was paid to the cabinet construction. The front baffle is made of 15 mm aluminum, machined on a CNC machine, and joined to a rigid cabinet made of 21 mm MDF panels. This design is intended to reduce vibrations and parasitic resonances. In addition, internal bracing and iCell damping material are used to suppress unwanted vibrations and preserve playback accuracy.

Like the other models in the series, the Radiant Acoustics Clarity 66 is assembled and tested in Denmark. Buyers will be offered three finishes – walnut, matte black, and oak. In the European market, the new model is priced at 7,990 euros per pair, immediately placing it in the category of serious audiophile floorstanding loudspeakers.
