FiiO has introduced the S15 model - a digital music streamer (network player) and DAC with a high-quality analog section and a balanced XLR output. FiiO S15 can also be used as a preamplifier, which allows you to connect the player directly to a power amplifier or active loudspeakers.
Digital-to-analog conversion is entrusted to the Asahi Kasei reference chips, which includes AK4191 and AK4499EX. The use of DWA routing technology effectively reduces noise and improves playback quality. In the center of the front panel is a large 7.84" touchscreen.
FiiO S15 runs Android 12 and offers an ergonomic interface. The DAC supports various streaming services, the Roon ecosystem, DLNA and AirPlay. Audio files can also be played from local sources such as NAS, microSD cards and external USB drives.
The FiiO S15 network player is equipped with two Accusilicon crystal oscillators, which are characterized by ultra-low phase noise, which, according to the developers, allows to effectively reduce signal distortion. The analog part of the player is implemented in a fully balanced architecture based on OPA1612 operational amplifiers. In addition, a reliable low-noise linear power supply and ELNA capacitors are used. The FiiO S15 network player will go on sale in early 2025 at a recommended retail price of 1,099 euros. Full specifications will be available soon.
