The Definitive Technology Demand D11 bookshelf loudspeakers use a dual suspension system of the BDSS mid/low-frequency driver, in which the 165 mm polypropylene diffuser is attached to the basket not only along the outer edge. In this case, the second suspension in the center of the system connects the inner edge of the diffuser with the core, which contains a proprietary waveguide - this design significantly improves the linearity of the diffuser movement. Another important innovation is the Linear Response waveguide, which, according to the manufacturer, expands the directivity pattern and improves the consistency of the frequency response in the operating range of the acoustic system.
Particular attention was paid to ensuring an accurate phase response when constructing Definitive Technology Demand D11 acoustic systems. The 25 mm tweeter includes an acoustic lens, known as a 20/20 Wave Alignment Lens, which improves the uniformity of sound dispersion. The tweeter dome is made of aluminum and is positioned at an angle of 5 degrees from the central axis, effectively minimizing unwanted symmetrical diffraction at the edges of the speaker's front panel. This solution improves the focus of sound images and the stage's echeloning.
The Definitive Technology Demand D11 acoustic systems are equipped with a passive bass radiator, which further improves bass response. The icing on the cake is the grilles with magnetic fastening and two pairs of terminals for bi-wiring.
