D&A (Digi & Aesth) has introduced a relatively inexpensive ($699) digital-to-analog converter with headphone amplifier D&A Alpha PRO. Alpha Pro was developed on the basis of the flagship ESS Technology ES9039MSPRO chip, it supports signals up to PCM 32/768, DSD512 and hardware decodes MQA.
32-bit noise reduction, proprietary Zero-Jitter Clock architecture and three clock generators with femtosecond accuracy (two for local USB and one VCXO generator for the second phase of PLL synchronization) reduce jitter to a record level of 15 picoseconds!
The SIGMA DAC topology uses summation of the differential signal across 8 channels of the DAC chip for each of the two channels of the device, which reduces the output impedance by 4 times and the noise level by 75%. This guarantees a dynamic range of 133 dB and THD+N at -124 dB.
The digital and analog modules are physically separated using a 4-layer printed circuit board with isolation and independent ground buses. The use of shielded blocks and star power supply wiring guarantees zero crosstalk between the digital circuits and the DAC conversion. Key signal lines are enclosed between the protective layers, forming electromagnetic Faraday cages.
Headphone performance is also exemplary - the D&A Alpha Pro uses 32 discrete transistors across four channels (up to 6W per channel when driving a 32 ohm nominal load) and achieves an output impedance of less than 0.1 ohms, with a total harmonic distortion (THD) of just 0.0001%.

Cyrus Audio has officially unveiled the Cyrus 40 PPA phono preamplifier – the model has been previously demonstrated at exhibitions and is now available for sale at a suggested retail price of €2,499 or $2,899.
Cambridge Audio has released an improved version of its famous network integrated amplifier – this month the Cambridge Audio EVO 150 SE will go on sale. The device uses Class D amplification based on NCOREx “Tuned by Cambridge” modules and delivers 2 x 150 watts to 8 ohm speakers. The amplifier is equipped with a built-in digital-to-analog converter based on the advanced ESS Technology Sabre ES9018K2M chip.
Bluesound has introduced a new generation of the Bluesound Powernode network integrated amplifier. The model now uses gallium nitride (GaN) amplification technology and is equipped with three amplification channels for the center speaker in home theater mode. At the same time, the Bluesound Powernode can operate in traditional stereo mode – then the power will be 2 x 100 watts, and when switching to three-channel mode – 80 watts.
STAX has introduced a new generation of its iconic SR-007 model, STAX SR-007S electrostatic headphones. Available to order from June 30, 2025 for $2,200 the STAX SR-007S continue the lineage started back in 1998 and evolve with modern improvements in design and sound.
Orchard Audio has introduced the Orchard Audio Starkrimson 25 Mono Premium mono power amplifier. The model uses class D circuitry with GaN transistors in the output stage.
