Goldmund Telos 9800 – 400,000 Francs for 1,560 Watts of Power

Goldmund has unveiled the Telos 9800, its new flagship monoblock amplifier and the most powerful unit in the company's history. The Goldmund Telos 9800 delivers 1,560 watts of continuous power into an 8-ohm load; the price for a single monoblock is 400,000 Swiss francs (or 430,000 euros).

A key feature of the Goldmund Telos 9800 is its design: the amplification circuitry and the power supply are housed in separate chassis for each amplification channel. One module handles power delivery, while the other manages signal amplification. Consequently, a stereo setup consisting of two monoblocks comprises four separate units - a configuration demonstrated at the Hong Kong High-End Audio Visual Show 2026, which we attended.

Beyond the sonic improvements gained by minimizing magnetic interference, the Goldmund Telos 9800 circuit benefits from galvanic isolation between sections and exceptional mechanical stability.

The power supply is based on the proprietary Controlled Energy Management System. It incorporates custom-made 10 kVA transformers and ultra-high-capacity capacitors totaling 648 mF.

The output stage of the Goldmund Telos 9800 utilizes next-generation field-effect transistors (FETs) and includes a SoftStart circuit. The signal path is fully balanced from input to output, with a maximum output voltage reaching 375 V (peak-to-peak).
