Kanto Audio has released an updated version of its popular turntable, the Kanto Audio Obi3 Gen 2. The model is available in five color options and is priced at $249.99. The slight price increase reflects several quality improvements to the design.

The Kanto Audio Obi3 Gen 2 features a wooden chassis and a more substantial build - the turntable's weight has increased to 5.5 kg. Additionally, the engineers have integrated a speed sensor that monitors platter rotation accuracy and automatically corrects it during playback. Both features are designed to ensure a more precise, cohesive sound with solid bass.

In terms of ergonomics, the Kanto Audio Obi3 Gen 2 now includes an auto-stop function - the platter stops spinning automatically once the record finishes, thereby extending the cartridge's lifespan.

The drive system remains unchanged from the previous model, utilizing a belt-drive. The platter is made of aluminum. Wireless connectivity is powered by modern Bluetooth 5.3, and a built-in phono stage is also included. The Kanto Audio Obi3 Gen 2 is ready to use right out of the box, coming equipped with an aluminum J-shaped tonearm and an Audio-Technica AT3600L cartridge. Wow and flutter are rated at less than 0.15% WRMS (DIN weighted).
