Modern horn speakers are the choice of those audiophiles and music lovers who want to get ultra-high sound dynamics, easy selection of tube amplification and a vinyl-friendly experience. Indeed, analog sound formats are best revealed on horn acoustics with a tube amp in a pair – so our new rating is dedicated to such loudspeakers. It's 2025 and in almost any price segment – from Hi-Fi to High-End you can find impressive speakers – our expert article will help with this.
Looking at the price of Shinjitsu Audio Hiro (two thousand six hundred US dollars per pair), we want to double-check the data once again - but, all is so, before us is really an attraction of generosity and an entrance ticket to the world of horn sound. The acoustics uses the proprietary main driver and the new Beyma CD171 FE / PK compression driver in an optimized horn and provides a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 Khz - which is very impressive for enclosures with a volume of 1.7 cubic feet. 93 dB of sensitivity and stable 8 Ohm impedance provide guarantees of coupling with a tube amplification of 3 W, and the dynamic sound makes your legs dance.

The latest reincarnation of the classic Klipsch La Scala model (first released in 1963 – a living classic) in the AL5 version is designed in a closed cabinet made of 25 mm thick MDF boards and allows for very flexible placement in the listening room, including close to the walls. The system is three-way - the K-771 tweeter and 2” K-55-X compression midrange driver with phenolic diffusers are loaded on their own horns, and from below there is a rear-facing 15” low-frequency woofer with a diffuser made of K-33-E fiber composite in an exponential folded horn. The speakers will not amaze you with the bass extension (the frequency is limited to 51 Hz), but the stunning 105 dB sensitivity and reference microdynamics form a truly magical sound canvas.

The development of the famous 115 and 116 models from the British Lowther flaunts a wide-range 8" PM6A driver with an alnico magnet and a Voigt folded spatial diaphragm, enclosed in a front facing Voigt horn. The company's DNA is visible in everything - from the amazingly lively and agile sound, flowing like a stream, to the highest sensitivity of 98-105 dB with a stable impedance of 8 Ohm. By the way, relatively miniature speakers play in the 35 Hz - 20 kHz frequency range - we have a real engineering masterpiece in front of us.

The futuristic AER AEROFON are available in several versions, differing in the drivers used. So, the basic AEROFON econ has 102 dB sensitivity, and the senior AEROFON essence with BD E drivers almost claims a world record with 116 dB! The full-range divers here deliver an incredible amount of detail and literally tear off the veil before any recording. The frequency responce of 35 Hz – 80 kHz also looks very impressive for a design of this size.

The younger Avantgarde Acoustic UNO SD are perfect even for small (16 sqm) rooms – and their 107 dB sensitivity and 18 Ohm impedance guarantee the speakers will open up even when supplied with 10 W of power. The 500 mm spherical midrange horn with Evolution XMl is a 127 mm midrange driver that operates in a band up to 300 Hz. The midrange and tweeter drivers use Omega coils, which significantly reduce the load on the amplifier. The subwoofer module uses the new 153 mm XB10 driver in a bass-reflex configuration with 500 Watts G3-500 amplifier – notes from 18 Hz are quite within the system’s reach, and the overall character of the sound is simply mesmerizing.

Acapella LA CAMPANELLA is equipped with a new 450 mm hyperspheric horn, which transmits a full four octaves (as opposed to the three octaves usually voiced by horns) - so, in terms of timbre authenticity and coherence of performance, the acoustics have few equals. At low frequencies, there are as many as four 6.5" woofers operating in parallel - together with the intelligent coupling concept, the system achieves a frequency response of 25 Hz - 25 kHz at 93 dB sensitivity and 8 Ohm impedance. But you should take serious care of the amplification - it is recommended to supply 100 W.

SAT XD1 is a true pearl of the modern horizon of High End audio equipment. Based on completely rethought engineering solutions of the direct-drive Technics SP-10R turntable, the redesigned vinyl turntable from the famous Marc Gomez amazes with both its sound and price. But, such is the price for truly ultimate quality…
Linn describes its new Linn 360 acoustic systems as a development from scratch, which uses «New cabinet. New drive units. New electronics. New everything». The innovative speakers are truly amazing – both in their appearance and in the large-scale sound, literally breaking our ideas about the physical capabilities of cabinets and drivers of this size.
The new Raidho speakers no longer look like a rethinking of past models - this is exactly what Raidho TD3.10 is. The bass foundation here is formed by large-sized 10” woofers, and tantalum midrange drivers with a diamond coating may well earn a cult status. But first things first – in the article we will try to reveal in detail all the technical innovations of the model and tell you about its sound.
Choosing an affordable Hi-Fi integrated amplifier, or more expensive Top Hi-Fi equipment, is a difficult and responsible task, the market is literally flooded with these devices. We have prepared for you a guide and comparison of seven of the best new integrated amplifiers in the price range from $449 to $5,000 - each of which deserves close attention in its range.
The final part of our photo report about the audio exhibition HIGH END Munich 2025 is dedicated to the most spectacular acoustic systems and components that brilliantly prove in practice that reference sound is possible.
