Yamaha has announced the start of sales of the Yamaha YH-L500A full-size headphones at the end of April 2025 – in Japan, the model will cost 25,000 yen. The new Yamaha YH-L500A headphones use the proprietary Sound Field Mode, which creates a real surround sound when transmitting stereo signals. The savings compared to the company's older models still had an effect - the Yamaha YH-L500A lacks a user's head tracking system in space and vertical sound stage focusing.
Although the Yamaha YH-L500A are positioned as wireless headphones with Bluetooth connection (with SBC, AAC, LC3 and aptX Adaptive codecs), the model also allows wired connection via the supplied cable – this way the sound can be improved even more. Other features worth noting include upgraded ear pads that are more comfortable for long-term use and control via the proprietary Headphone Control app.
