Canadian company Totem Acoustic presented new Totem Acoustic Tribe Tower Thunderbird floor-standing loudspeakers – the model is equipped with new 6” Totem Torrent drivers and patented tweeters. In fact, we have before us a completely new acoustics, and not a rethinking of the Tribe Tower model released in 2019.
The main innovation of Totem Acoustic Tribe Tower Thunderbird is 6” Totem Torrent drivers with a multi-layer voice coil, improved magnet and optimized geometry, they guarantee an impressive bass response for such dimensions from 28 Hz and an extended midrange/high-frequency range up to 7 kHz. This design allows the dual driver circuit to operate without a crossover for improved phase accuracy (the two Torrent drivers are complemented by a proprietary 1.3” Totem tweeter that operates up to 29 kHz).
The Totem Acoustic Tribe Tower Thunderbird will be available in the summer of 2025 for $13,500 - $15,000 depending on finish. With 6 Ohms of impedance and 90 dB of sensitivity, the loudspeakers should not overload the amplifier.
