The Japanese company TAD (Technical Audio Devices Laboratories), 9 years after the launch of the ME1 bookshelf speakers, has released an updated version with the ME1TX index. The new model under the name has rethought drivers and a number of improvements.
TAD ME1TX are designed according to a three-way scheme - but visually we only see two drivers in each speaker. The thing is that the famous proprietary assembly of a 2.5-cm tweeter with a beryllium diaphragm and a 9-cm midrange driver, combined into a coaxial CST (Coherent Source Transuder) assembly, is used on the HF and MF. They are complemented by a 16-cm woofer with a multi-layer composite MACC diffuser, made of woven aramid fibers and non-woven materials. The low-frequency driver is loaded onto a bidirectional bass reflex port, which is located under the side panels of the speakers.
The TAD ME1TX cabinets is made of MDF reinforced with internal birch wood ties. 5 mm steel panels were used for damping. The sensitivity of the TAD ME1TX is 85 dB, the impedance is 4 Ohms, and the maximum power is 150 Watts - so you should get a powerful amplifier. In black finish, ME1TX can be purchased for 17,300 euros.
