TAD-E1AX – New Floorstanding Speakers from the Evolution Series

05.10.2025 16:55 | ~2 minutes read

Technical Audio Devices Laboratories (TAD) announced the release of the new TAD-E1AX floorstanding speakers, replacing the well-known TAD-E1TX (produced since 2019). The speakers feature the company's signature coaxial high-midrange/high-frequency driver (a 2.5 cm beryllium dome tweeter and a 9 cm magnesium alloy cone driver) and a pair of 16 cm MACC woofers.

The TAD-E1AX loudspeakers feature a three-way configuration. The updated coaxial CST (Coherent Source Transducer) driver features a beryllium diaphragm tweeter manufactured using proprietary vapor deposition technology and the Harmonized Synthetic Diaphragm Optimum Method (HSDOM) computer-aided diaphragm shape optimization method. The same tweeter is featured in the TAD-ME1TX bookshelf model, released in early 2025. The CST driver also features an improved midrange driver with a 9 cm anodized magnesium diaphragm and an additional protective coating. The combination of anodizing and a protective coating on the cone surface further enhances rigidity and internal damping. The CST driver covers a wide frequency range from 420 Hz to 60,000 Hz, while simultaneously demonstrating consistent amplitude and phase response characteristics.

The pair of woofers features 16 cm diameter cones made of MACC (Multi-layered Aramid Composite Cone), a laminated material consisting of woven aramid fabric and non-woven materials of different natures. The combination of an advanced Linear Drive Magnet Circuit (LDMC) magnet system and a foamed polycarbonate surround delivers exceptional linearity and deep bass.

The TAD-E1AX enclosures feature Acoustic-Filter-Assisted System Tuning (AFAST), which minimizes low-frequency standing waves within the enclosure, while the bidirectional ADP (Aero-Dynamic Port) system promotes rich bass. Additionally, SILENT (Structurally Inert Laminated Enclosure Technology) and AFAST technologies reduce cabinet vibrations and resonances. The bidirectional ADP (Aero-Dynamic Port) system positions the bass reflex port at the bottom of the enclosure, with vents facing forward and rearward. The internal shape of the port is designed as a horn, reducing port noise and increasing its efficiency.

The black version of the TAD-E1AX speakers will be available in December 2025. The white version will be available in mid-January 2026. Recommended retail prices will be announced later.
