Soulution has introduced the ultimate vinyl player Soulution 787. The model features linear tracking system with a moving platter and a minimal excursion pivoted tonearm.. Recall that such designs imply the highest tracking accuracy, but have hardly been used until now due to their extreme complexity and high cost (Nakamichi TX-1000 Computing Turntable in 1983-1987 with Absolute Centre Search System offered offered something a little similar - but in that case the tonearm moved, and the platter provided the necessary center shift, corresponding to a specific LP).
As a result, the Soulution 787 vinyl turntable demonstrates a stunningly low tracking error of < 0.15 degrees! The model is equipped with an 8” pivoted tonearm, also compatible with high compliance cartridges. The tonearm is mounted on an isolated, resonance controlled sub-chassis.
The design of the Soulution 787 eliminates the friction and unbalanced forces inherent with linear tracking tonearms where the arm is pulled toward the inner grooves by lateral forces on the outer edge of the record’s groove. As a result, the system offers all the advantages of pivoted tonearms, but without the traditional disadvantages, such as incorrect skating forces or tracking errors.
Full details of the player will be released at the High End Munich 2025 exhibition.
