Rega has unveiled its flagship moving-magnet cartridge, the Nd9 (€899). The newcomer features a boron cantilever with a Fine Line stylus inherited from the reference MC cartridge Aphelion 2. Boron delivers exceptional rigidity with low mass, providing ultra-fast response and superior groove tracking accuracy. The Nd9 is available as a factory option for the Rega Planar 8 turntable.

The Fine Line profile features an exceptionally small radius. The stylus is made from monocrystalline synthetic diamond with a contact radius of just 3 µm from above and 30 µm vertically from the front.
The Nd9 also features optimized pole piece spacing for superior linearity and minimal crosstalk, resulting in a much wider soundstage compared to previous models. The cartridge uses miniature parallel coils wound with 38 µm wire containing only 1,275 turns, resulting in a low-inductance, low-resistance generator with significantly improved high-frequency response.

The Nd series is the first MM cartridge line using an N55-grade neodymium magnet - the most powerful commercially available magnet in the world, enabling this unique design to deliver greater magnetic energy than standard magnets.
