Quad Platina Integrated and Platina Stream – the New Series is on the Way
Quad has announced a new series of Quad Platina audio equipment. The already released Quad Platina Integrated amplifier with DAC and Quad Platina Stream streamer will soon be joined by the Quad Platina CDT CD transport.
The Quad Platina Integrated amplifier utilizes a combination of a Class-AB transistor circuit and digital architecture. The amplifier itself is a dual-mono configuration and guarantees 2 x 200W of power into an 8 ohm load. The power supply features a 630 VA toroidal transformer and redundant filter capacitance (44,000 µF per channel).
The Quad Platina Integrated is equipped with a built-in digital-to-analog converter based on the ESS Sabre ES9038PRO chip, capable of processing up to 32-bit/768 kHz and DSD512. A built-in phono preamp with a JFET input stage is also included, supporting both MM and MC cartridges.
The Quad Platina Stream streamer is equipped with the same ESS Sabre ES9038PRO DAC chip and supports signals up to 32-bit/768 kHz and DSD512. Built-in streaming clients include Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, Spotify Connect, and Apple AirPlay 2. It is Roon-certified and features flexible digital filter settings. The Quad Platina Stream streamer connects to a computer network via a Gigabit Ethernet port or dual-band Wi-Fi.
