Paradigm Premier v2 – Updated Affordable Speaker Series

Canadian company Paradigm unveiled the second generation of its Premier loudspeaker series at AXPONA 2026, which took place last weekend in Chicago. According to the manufacturer, the new lineup is intended to respond to growing interest in high-quality home audio in a more affordable market segment. The updated family includes six models: the 820F and 720F floorstanders, 220B and 120B bookshelf speakers, the 620C center channel, as well as the versatile 520LCR. The very appearance of such a series clearly reflects today’s market environment, where manufacturers are increasingly expected to raise performance standards without stepping beyond reasonable pricing.

Paradigm emphasizes that the Premier v2 series incorporates a number of solutions derived from the more expensive Founder line, while maintaining relatively accessible positioning through the company’s own engineering and manufacturing capabilities. Among the main updates are new AL-MAC tweeters designed to reduce distortion, revised midrange drivers for cleaner and more expressive presentation, and Carbon-X bass drivers intended to deliver deeper, better-controlled low frequencies. Complementing these are proprietary waveguides and acoustic lenses designed to improve sound dispersion and make performance more consistent in rooms of varying size and layout.

Paradigm Premier v2 820F

The flagship of the new range is the Premier v2 820F floorstanding model, designed to serve as the foundation of a serious stereo system or as the main front speaker in a high-level home theater setup. Several 7-inch Carbon-X woofers combined with an enlarged cabinet volume allow the speaker to move a substantial amount of air, producing deep and authoritative bass. At the same time, the manufacturer promises to maintain control, composure, and a large-scale soundstage even at high listening levels.

Paradigm Premier v2 720F

The 720F v2 is aimed at those who want the scale and impact of floorstanding speakers without overwhelming the listening space. It is a three-way system featuring two Carbon-X woofers, a dedicated AL-MAG midrange driver, and an AL-MAC tweeter, a combination intended to provide a more cohesive and even presentation across the frequency range. It also uses adjustable Outrigger Shock-Mount feet designed to improve cabinet stability and reduce vibration. According to Paradigm, this helps preserve clarity, precision, and structural integrity of the sound even under serious load.

Paradigm Premier v2 220B

The 220B v2 bookshelf speaker is the larger compact model in the lineup. It is equipped with a 1-inch AL-MAC tweeter and a 6-inch AL-MAG driver, and also benefits from a larger cabinet volume than one would normally expect from a bookshelf speaker in this class. According to the manufacturer, this enables the system to deliver richer bass and a wider dynamic range. As a result, the 220B v2 can perform confidently both in smaller rooms and in more spacious environments, remaining an appealing alternative to floorstanding models for listeners who do not want to move to full-size speakers.

Paradigm Premier v2 120B

The 120B v2 occupies the entry position in the range and is intended for smaller rooms where compact dimensions and high-quality sound are equally important. This is a two-way bookshelf speaker combining a 1-inch AL-MAC tweeter with a 5.5-inch AL-MAG mid-bass driver. Despite its relatively modest size, the manufacturer promises detailed, open, and surprisingly expansive sound for this class. Thanks to its versatile nature, the model can be used either in a conventional stereo system or as part of a multichannel home theater setup.

Paradigm Premier v2 620C

The 620C v2 center channel speaker was developed for large and serious home theater systems, where the center channel is expected to provide not only intelligible speech reproduction, but also full-bodied, large-scale sound. Its design employs an array of four drivers supplemented by two passive radiators. This solution is intended to deliver a weightier and more extended low-frequency range while preserving the placement flexibility characteristic of a sealed enclosure. The main goal of this model is to ensure clear dialogue reproduction and sufficient sonic scale for use in spacious rooms and demanding installations.

Paradigm Premier v2 520LCR

The 520LCR v2 is conceived as a universal solution for the left, center, and right channels in a high-quality home theater system. Its sealed acoustic design offers greater installation flexibility: the speaker can be placed either inside furniture or in open space without sacrificing control and clarity. The coaxial AL-MAG midrange driver is intended to contribute to more accurate dialogue reproduction and more cohesive imaging, making the front soundstage feel more unified and seamless. Another advantage of the model is its flexibility: the 520LCR v2 can be used horizontally as a center channel or vertically as a left, right, and even surround channel.

The Paradigm Premier v2 loudspeakers will be sold individually rather than in pairs. Stands for the compact bookshelf models are not included. Sales are scheduled to begin in June 2026, and the recommended retail prices are as follows:
