American company MSB Technology has expanded its line of digital sources with the new The Palisade DAC digital-to-analog converter. The unit was presented at High End Vienna 2026 and takes its place below the flagship Cascade DAC, inheriting a number of key engineering solutions from the senior model. At the same time, the Palisade DAC is conceived as a more compact and less expensive alternative to the flagship model.
MSB describes the new product as a “distilled” version of the Cascade DAC. This means that the developers have retained the most important technologies of the flagship model while omitting some functionality in order to make the device more focused. The Palisade DAC is designed to work only with digital sources, so analog inputs are not provided in its architecture.
Like MSB’s senior solutions, the Palisade DAC is built around a separate-chassis design. The package includes two independent units: the Digital Director, responsible for digital signal processing, and the Analog Converter, where the actual digital-to-analog conversion takes place. This separation helps reduce the influence of digital circuits on the analog section and improves the overall stability of the signal path.

Digital-to-analog conversion in the Palisade DAC is handled by four Hybrid DAC MKII modules. Clocking accuracy is provided by the Femto 33 MKIII clock system, which is also used in the flagship Cascade DAC. In addition, the new model supports MSB’s proprietary BDT technology, already familiar from the Cascade and Sentinel models.
The analog section of the Palisade DAC is designed as a fully balanced circuit. The output stage is equipped with passive level control, while its output impedance is 150 ohms. MSB has also paid particular attention to protection against electromagnetic interference: the design uses EMI shielding solutions previously implemented in the Sentinel DAC.
A linear power supply is built into the Analog Converter chassis. According to MSB, this made it possible to simplify the system and reduce its footprint while maintaining low noise and stable power for the key circuits. Production of the MSB Palisade DAC has already started, and pre-orders are being accepted through the company’s dealer network. The recommended retail price of the model is $59,500.
