Marten has expanded its catalogue with a new line of Dexter loudspeakers. The series includes four models: the compact bookshelf Dexter Duo, as well as the floorstanding Dexter Trio, Dexter Quartet and Dexter Quintet. The range is conceived as a way to bring Marten’s signature technologies to a wider audience and adapt them for different home audio systems.
All Dexter loudspeakers are built around a unified engineering concept. Each model uses Marten’s proprietary diamond tweeter, developed on the basis of the technologies used in the flagship Coltrane Supreme Extreme project. In addition, the new line features three-layer M-Core cabinets and a specially designed bass system created specifically for the Dexter family.

he senior models in the series, Dexter Quintet and Dexter Quartet, are designed as three-way systems. Their construction includes a Marten ceramic midrange driver and Marten bass drivers with carbon-fibre cones. Dexter Trio and Dexter Duo use a more compact configuration: they combine a Marten ceramic mid/bass driver with the same diamond tweeter found in the larger models. The internal wiring of all loudspeakers is made with Jorma Duality cable, while development and assembly take place at Marten’s factory in Sweden.

Particular attention in the Dexter series has been given to low-frequency loading. The new Loaded Reflex Line system combines the principles of a bass reflex design and a transmission line. For this purpose, a special internal channel is formed inside the cabinet, while airflow is directed through a wide downward-firing slot port. According to Marten, this architecture reduces air velocity, delivers deeper bass and makes the loudspeakers less sensitive to room placement.

Marten Dexter is available in four finish options: True Grain Oak, Piano Walnut, Matte Walnut and Piano Black. The True Grain Oak finish appears in the Marten catalogue for the first time and will remain exclusive to this series. The walnut veneer versions were also developed specifically for Dexter: the manufacturer highlights their expressive texture and restrained natural tone. In addition to the standard versions, each model will also be available as a Statement Edition with an upgraded crossover and improved internal cabling.
European prices for the Marten Dexter series start at €20,900 for a pair of Dexter Duo speakers. The floorstanding Dexter Trio is priced from €32,900, Dexter Quartet from €42,900, and the flagship Dexter Quintet from €49,900 per pair. The Statement Edition versions will cost more. The exact launch dates for the new loudspeakers have not yet been announced.
