Lockwood Loudspeakers was a high-end audio company from 1930 until the early 1980s, when production of the iconic loudspeakers was halted due to a fire at a production facility. The brand was then reborn – and is now experiencing rapid growth and development, with a new full-cycle production facility launched at a new factory in Hamilton, Scotland.
The company’s headquarters and development department will remain in London. The new factory is designed to meet the growing global demand for Lockwood loudspeakers and maintain the famous British quality and craftsmanship.
CEO Danny Timms stressed that the opening of the factory is not just about producing loudspeakers, but about continuing a family tradition that goes back three generations. Lockwood is committed to preserving the unique sound that has seen their loudspeakers used on albums by legendary artists and in the world’s most famous studios.
